Ocean Rumble opens up a secret world of bizarre creatures living 10,000 miles under the sea, where they fight to showcase their power. Players form 1-hero-and-4-minion squads and battle against others across many arenas. Upon entering the game, players can collect minions, form teams, power them up and lead them to utmost victories.
The gameplay is deceptively simple. As players win battles, they gain trophies to unlock new arenas and collect rewards to power up their teams. Winning is not always easy as players need to adapt their play to each arena and against each opponent. Players need to sharpen their strategies from team selection to team lineup and how to play each minion every round.
Besides winning battles and enjoying your victories, an exciting component of the game is to collect minions across all tiers and all skin collections. This is quite a challenge due to minions’ rarity. Players will benefit from trading Rare, Epic and Legendary Minions as they are of limited supply, hence, tend to have higher values than Common ones. Such advantage is not obtainable without using blockchain technology.
Out of various benefits this technology brings to Ocean Rumble, three main ones are detailed out here. Blockchain technology allows players to have full ownership of Ocean Rumble assets (characters and items). They can keep, change, transfer, delete or do whatever they want with their assets. Secondly, in-game characters, once brought upon a blockchain network, can become collectibles as their defined rarity is transparent and immutable. Last but not least, in-game assets are no longer locked down under an account perpetually but are easily traded with anyone, through verified smart contracts. Such unprecedented benefit enables users to convert their time and efforts in actual returns.
Among many blockchain networks, Zilliqa was selected for a reason. With experience of creating blockchain games, Ocean Rumble team believes Zilliqa is currently the best blockchain for the game. Zilliqa can balance decentralization, speed and security very well and is able to tackle the scalability challenge. Zilliqa blockchain is designed so that the throughput scales almost linearly as the number of nodes scales, which ensures capacity can continue to grow to meet demand. As the network grows, it is unlikely to see congestion like in the case of Bitcoin or Ethereum.
Zilliqa is a high-throughput public blockchain platform that aims to make decentralised blockchains the building block of future enterprises and applications. Developed through academic research and helmed by a team of experienced scientists, engineers, venture creators and leaders in the financial services, Zilliqa addresses limitations in scalability and security, enabling real-world usability across a variety of industries, including finance, digital advertising, and gaming. In 2019, Zilliqa became the first public blockchain platform to be built on sharded architecture, with smart contracts written in the platform’s secure-by-design programming language, Scilla.
