Game development studio 0xGames is announcing a major update for its flagship strategy 0xUniverse: the open-economy space-themed game is going to support Matic Network .
0xUniverse has always been known to be an Ethereum-only game. Now it’s about to change as the developers are integrating support for Matic. With this move, the two teams hope to boost interaction between users of the different chains and bring in more gamers into the plot-oriented space worlds.
Matic Network aims to bring massive scale to Ethereum and solve the traditional Ethereum-specific problems – slow block confirmation and high gas fees – to enhance mass adoption. Building a decentralized platform using an adapted version of the Plasma framework is what the team behind Matic sees as the key solution to the problems.
After integrating Matic, the galaxy-conquering game will have a new galaxy with a new set of legendary-tier planets available. Each legendary asset will hold a hand-crafted story considered to be a continuation of the main storyline 0xUniverse explorers discovered in the Ethereum galaxy last year.
Aside from that, the developers plan to add more content and updates to the game. Among others, the much-anticipated Wars of Corporations update will add conflicts to the social aspect already existing in the universe. Knowledge, resources, factories, player interaction – all of these will factor in when the wars come. You had better get prepared!
